8 Pieces of Brocade Qi Gong Workout:
Standing Version:
1. Both Hands Hold up Heaven Aligning the Triple Warmer.
When the Triple Warmer (refers to the 3 body cavities)is aligned smoothly suffering and disease disappear.
The backs of the hands face Heaven as you swing out both buttocks.
Stick out your chest and straighten your hips as you rock/sway to both sides.
Standing in proper posture takes a firm stance.
Long practice makes the body strong and robust.

2. Left and Right Open Like a Bow Shooting a(n) Eagle/Vulture.
Having both arms stiffly/solidly bent strengthens the kidneys and hips.
Bend elbows level with shoulders and strenuously draw.
Hand arrow alignment depends on the eyes to focus/aim.
Release the shot to the left and right twenty four times.
Crouching the seat into horse riding stance heightens the effectiveness.

3. To Train/Maintain the Spleen and Stomach You Must Single out and Lift up.
When the spleen and stomach are harmonized diseases heal automatically.
Raise an arm; stick out the palm; and exert strength to shake it.
Stretch and extend the chest sinew to open up the spleen and stomach.
As the right hand is raised high the left droops down.
The left and right stretch and shake; activating/invigorating the sinew/ collateral network.

4. Look to the Rear to See After the Five Strains and Seven Injuries.
With long practice it slowly makes bones and sinews sturdy.
Consumptive injuries are all due to internal organ weakness.
Stick out your chest and turn your neck for a good look to the rear.
Scoop out your hips and hold up your chest with the body standing level.
This has effectiveness in the specific treatment of internal injuries.

5. Shake the Head and Wag the Tail to Get Rid of Heart Fire.
Heart Fire (diet, stress, and unusual circumstances leading to palpitations, mania, and possibly actual heart inflammation) vigorously breaks down lung metal (lungs are seen as having a functional process similar to metal, cooling the body, condensing/evaporating liquid, and catalysing reactions).
Pressing the hands on the kneecaps rock and sway multiple times.
There are many benefits to getting the blood flowing smoothly.
For contracted sinews, stiff leg, and a numb (h**p wood) body.
Heavily/repeatedly stretch and push down without wasting time.

6. Both Hands Grab the Feet to Sturdy the Kidneys and Hips.
When the kidneys and hips are sufficiently sturdy the whole body is stable.
For the kidneys, bend the body at the hips so the hands can grab the legs/feet.
This has the effect of strengthening the sinews and solidifying the bones.
For each descend and each rise the vitality gets bigger.
Moreover another good point is to help defend against the common cold.

7. Throw Fists With Fierce Eyes to Increase Energy.
The body and mind become vigorously spirited and straightforward.
Squat down in horse riding stance and straighten the chest to stick it out.
Close fi**ed or palm strikes many times using power.
Both hands get caught following the cycle of left and right.
Catch and hold a fierce look while exerting strength.

8. The 7 Upsets and 100 Diseases Disappear Behind the Back.
The 100 diseases are all conditions invited by bodily weakness.
Adding upsets (emotional extremes) functions like a brush drawing calligraphy.
Shake the crown of the head until it reaches the toes a bit.
Scoop out your hips and hold up the chest as you jolt up and down.
This has the effect of dispelling diseases and erasing disasters.

8 Pieces of Brocade Qi Gong Workout:
Sitting version:

1. Close Eyes Quietly Sit:
Close your eyes and dwell in the depths \darkness of the heart. Firmly grasp the spirit\mind of quieted thoughts.

2. Hands Hold My. Kunlun:
Tap the teeth together 36 times, both hands hold Kunlun (a metaphor for the back ridge of the head) pulling forward against resistance.

3. Tapping Shots to Jade Pillow(acupuncture points 2.5" above posterior hairline and 1.3" lateral):
(With middle fingers in position and index fingers thumping) Left and right sound heaven's drum, listen 24 times.

4. Turn Head Again and Again [Minutely Arranging Heaven's Pillar(acupuncture points 1.3" lateral to posterior hairline and metaphor for neck muscles)]:
Minutely arrange and shake Heaven's Pillar. The red dragon (tongue) stirs up watery saliva. Drum rinse 36 times, creating a mouthful of salivary fluid. Swallow the mouthful in 3 parts, with the intent to send it to the navel chakra.

5. Pushing Massage to Kidney Point(Bladder acupuncture point 1.5" later to the point of second lumbar vertebrae) [Hand Massage the Essence Gate]:
Close energy \hold your breath and rub your hands warm. Back massage behind essence gate points, while using up this one mouthful of breath, and imagining a fire in the navel chakra.

6. Hands Turn Double Rings [Left and Right Well-bucket Pulley]:
Left and right hands row turns like a pulley, while both legs are allowed to loosen and stretch.

7. Pull-up Push-down Grab Feet:
Lock the hands as a pair and fake pulling\pushing something up, then lower head and grab feet repeatedly.

8. Cycle of Heaven's Slow Movements:
Wait for a while for mouth water (saliva) to arrive. Rinse again swallow saliva again, do this up to 3 times, swallowing mouth water in 9 segments, swallow with a gurgling sound. The hundred pulses distribute themselves. To finish the Cycle of Heaven's Slow Movements, imagine fire everywhere, warming the body. It's an old name (for) the 8 Pieces of Brocade.

Practice after the rat hour (11:00 pm to 1:00 am) and before the horse hour (11:00 am to 1:00 pm). Frequently practice without break periods, and the 10,000 disease will transform into mere dust.
