⚠️ Be prepared for possible closure on April 8th ⚠️

How will the total solar eclipse affect our Williamson County schools that will be in session on April 8th???? The RRISD Safety and Security committee noted that 1,000,000 visitors are anticipated to descend on our county to observe the total eclipse. Parents, talk to your children about the importance of not looking directly at the sun, about wearing proper eyewear, and setting expectations for windy, dark conditions during the middle of the day.

“Killeen, Temple, and Belton schools will be closed on April 8 because of the large crowds expected in the area with standstill traffic of up to 11 hours.”

Texas county declares state of emergency ahead of total solar eclipse A judge in one Texas county has ordered emergency measures in an effort to handle the hordes of total solar eclipse viewers who will descend on the state in April.

Happy Tuesday everyone! Don't forget that tomorrow is picture day, so make sure to bring your favorite outfit and a change of clothes too. We can't wait to capture this year's students and display it in the wall of fame!

7:00 am to 6:00 pm 📚

The district will return to our normal schedule for tomorrow, Jan. 17. Buses also will return to their normal pickup schedules. Families of bus riders, please check your child’s SmartTag for exact pickup times.

We decided to delay our start today because of a forecasted wind chill temperature at or near 0 degrees. We also wanted to give our staff and families time to get to campus safely. Lastly, we wanted to ensure that all of our campus systems—heating, electricity, plumbing—were working smoothly.

While there were a few isolated issues, we're ready to welcome our students and staff back to school tomorrow on a regular schedule. We'll continue to be flexible with everyone, and we'll excuse tardies tomorrow.

El Distrito volverá a nuestro horario normal el día de mañana, 17 de enero. Los autobuses también volverán a sus horarios normales. Familias de los pasajeros de autobús, por favor, revisen el SmartTag de su hijo para obtener los horarios exactos que será recogido.

Building will be open at 9:00am

Tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan. 16, Round Rock ISD offices and schools will operate on a TWO-HOUR DELAY. That means buses will pick up at designated stops TWO HOURS later than a regular school day. School start times will also begin two hours later and dismiss at the regular time.
