Round Rock ISD Visual Arts teachers recently gathered with the City of Round Rock Arts & Culture to launch this exciting international partnership that connects art, innovation, and STEAM learning. π
A special highlight of the event was the opportunity to celebrate Deep Wood Elementary Art Teacher, Amie Gonser, whose artwork is currently featured at the City Arts Center. πΌοΈπ Colleagues had the chance to view and celebrate her work, showcasing the exceptional talent and creativity of our RRISD visual arts educators.
Student-artists from across the district will take part in this unique challenge, applying their creativity and problem-solving skills for the opportunity to make their mark in this international art competition. π¨π
A special thank you to the City of Round Rock Arts & Culture, Eduardo Galindo of the Texas European Foundation, and Tim Lowke, RRISD Director of Fine Arts β Visual Arts, for helping launch this incredible opportunity for our students and educators. ππ

Congratulations Grisham Band!!!
The Grisham Honors Band has been selected as a TMEA 2C State Honor Band Finalist and placed 3rd in the state! This marks the 8th time in school history the Grisham Honors Band has made it to the Finals round of the TMEA Honor Band Contest. It was an honor for our band to be adjudicated today with some of the best band programs in the state of Texas! We are so incredibly proud of our students for all that they have achieved this year! Thank you to our incredible community for all of your support!

We are thrilled to celebrate that **Round Rock ISD** has been named a **Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction** for the **eighth consecutive year!** πβ¨
This remarkable achievement places **Round Rock ISD's visual arts programs among the top 1.3% in Texas**, with only **16 school districts statewide** earning this distinction every year since the award's inception. ππ¨
For the **2025β2026 school year**, more than **1,200 Texas school districts** were eligible to apply, and only **109 districts** received this prestigious honor. The **Visual Art Administrators of Texas**, a division of the Texas Art Education Association, recognizes districts that demonstrate outstanding leadership in promoting visual arts education within their schools and communities. ποΈπ

πΆβ¨ RRISD Elementary Music Performances β¨π
Across the district, our elementary music teachers hosted incredible performances showcasing the talents, creativity, and growth of students at every grade level! ππ΅
Featured performances from Cactus Ranch Elementary, Deep Wood Elementary, and Great Oaks Elementary highlighted the many ways students experience music through movement, collaboration, and performance. Audiences enjoyed the incorporation of ASL π€, dance π, and instrumental performance πΉπ₯, creating engaging and meaningful experiences for students and families alike. π
π Berkman AIA Elementary also presented Seussical the Musical through the Arts Integrated Academy, bringing together theater, dance, music, and storytelling in a vibrant student performance inspired by the works of Dr. Seuss. πβ¨

During the 2026 TEAM season, 7,260 works were adjudicated statewide, with only 568 artworks earning Top of TEAM medals.
