🎨🎶 Fine Arts Job-Alike Professional Development! 🎭💃

Two days. Every Fine Arts discipline. So many opportunities to learn, create, and connect! 👏✨

RRISD Fine Arts educators came together on August 12 & 13 for Job-Alike Professional Development designed around collaboration, hands-on learning, and tools that can make an impact in Fine Arts classrooms across the district. 💙

✨ Learning by Discipline
Educators participated in specialized sessions for visual art, music, theatre, dance, and elementary Fine Arts, learning directly from colleagues and district partners.

📱 Technology & Creativity
Teachers explored tools including Apple iPad, Procreate, Freeform, GarageBand, iMovie, Google Classroom, and more—with opportunities to apply technology to instruction, creativity, collaboration, and classroom management. 🍎🎨🎶

🎨 Hands-On Workshops
From Picasso STEAM Challenge workshops and Procreate to visual art studio experiences, educators had opportunities to create and explore alongside colleagues.

🎶 Music & Performance
Music educators explored resources such as GarageBand, Music First, Kodály, and other instructional tools to support music-making and student learning.

🎭 Theatre & Dance
Theatre and dance educators participated in sessions focused on program planning, performance, choreography, community building, and discipline-specific tools.

🤝 Growing Together
Job-Alike also created space for educators to share ideas, learn from one another, connect with district departments, and strengthen the vertical Fine Arts learning community.

🌟 And it wasn’t all work! We also celebrated the incredible accomplishments happening across RRISD Fine Arts—from state and national recognition to student performances and outstanding campus programs.

🎨🏎️✨ What do a Formula Four car, Picasso art, and Round Rock ISD have in common? ✨🔬

They’re all part of the 2026 Picasso STEAM Challenge! 🎉

Round Rock ISD Visual Arts teachers recently gathered with the City of Round Rock Arts & Culture to launch this exciting international partnership that connects art, innovation, and STEAM learning. 🌟

A special highlight of the event was the opportunity to celebrate Deep Wood Elementary Art Teacher, Amie Gonser, whose artwork is currently featured at the City Arts Center. 🖼️👏 Colleagues had the chance to view and celebrate her work, showcasing the exceptional talent and creativity of our RRISD visual arts educators.

Student-artists from across the district will take part in this unique challenge, applying their creativity and problem-solving skills for the opportunity to make their mark in this international art competition. 🎨🏁

A special thank you to the City of Round Rock Arts & Culture, Eduardo Galindo of the Texas European Foundation, and Tim Lowke, RRISD Director of Fine Arts – Visual Arts, for helping launch this incredible opportunity for our students and educators. 💙👏

Congratulations Grisham Band!!!

The Grisham Honors Band has been selected as a TMEA 2C State Honor Band Finalist and placed 3rd in the state! This marks the 8th time in school history the Grisham Honors Band has made it to the Finals round of the TMEA Honor Band Contest. It was an honor for our band to be adjudicated today with some of the best band programs in the state of Texas! We are so incredibly proud of our students for all that they have achieved this year! Thank you to our incredible community for all of your support!

It’s our Fine Art Department’s eighth consecutive year to receive the 2025-26 District of Distinction from the Texas Art Education Association and the fourth year for the District of Distinction, Outstanding District from the Texas Educational Theatre Association.

We are thrilled to celebrate that **Round Rock ISD** has been named a **Texas Art Education Association (TAEA) District of Distinction** for the **eighth consecutive year!** 👏✨

This remarkable achievement places **Round Rock ISD's visual arts programs among the top 1.3% in Texas**, with only **16 school districts statewide** earning this distinction every year since the award's inception. 🌟🎨

For the **2025–2026 school year**, more than **1,200 Texas school districts** were eligible to apply, and only **109 districts** received this prestigious honor. The **Visual Art Administrators of Texas**, a division of the Texas Art Education Association, recognizes districts that demonstrate outstanding leadership in promoting visual arts education within their schools and communities. 🖌️🏅

This recognition is a testament to the incredible dedication, creativity, and passion of our visual arts educators, whose commitment to inspiring students continues to elevate arts education across Round Rock ISD. 💙👏
