Yesterday, I had my first lesson with a Dad and his 6-year old son, both of whom are new to the game. What a great experience helping them to learn the beautiful game together! They were having so much fun, we went an extra half hour. Parents, think about this as a perfect way to learn something you and your kids can enjoy together all your lives.

Backyard Chess Returns to Saratoga! ♟️☀️

I’m excited to be back in Saratoga this summer and will be offering my popular Sunday Backyard Chess Classes starting July 20. These small-group sessions are great for young players who want to sharpen their skills, solve fun puzzles, and play real tournament-style games.

Classes will be held Sunday afternoons in a shaded backyard setting, with a mix of instruction and gameplay. I’ll also be offering private lessons while I’m in town.
