The Board of Education recognized Brittany Navarro for her experience with the Endeavor Health INSPIRE Summer Internship Program.
Brittany, a Round Lake High School senior, participated in the INSPIRE internship program this past summer. She began the summer unsure of what she wanted for her future. While she knew she was interested in the medical field, she wanted to gain hands-on hospital experience and learn more about working directly with patients.
Brittany was placed in the Labor and Delivery Unit, where she learned the importance of teamwork and patient-centered care. Each day, she assisted the floor nurses by answering call lights, helping patients, and delivering items to the lab.
The experience gave Brittany greater confidence in her future and helped her discover interests she didn’t know she had. She is grateful for the opportunity the INSPIRE program provided and for the real-world experience she, along with other participating students, gained—an experience they may not have otherwise had the opportunity to receive.
