🌟 Avon Super Nova Spotlight! 🌟

Congratulations to Mrs. Galindo, this month’s Avon Super Nova, presented by Mrs. Talanda!

Mrs. Galindo has been a valued part of our Avon family for four years, working primarily with Kindergarten while supporting students across every grade level.

Her patience, kindness, and constant support are just a few of the qualities that make her such a wonderful teaching assistant. She is always willing to step in with a smile and do whatever is needed to support our students and staff.

Thank you, Mrs. Galindo, for all you do and for the genuine care you show our students! We are so lucky to have you as part of our Avon family. ❤️

⭐️ Celebrating Our Multilingual Students & Custodians! ⭐️

On Friday, we gathered for a special assembly to recognize and celebrate our amazing students who speak multiple languages! We were especially proud to honor several students who successfully passed their 2026 WIDA assessment and attained English Language Proficiency. Their hard work, dedication, and multilingual skills are something to celebrate!

We also took a moment to show our appreciation for our wonderful custodians in honor of Custodian Day! Thank you for all you do each day to keep our school clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

What a wonderful day of celebrating our students and the incredible people who make our school community special!

🌟 Avon Super Nova Spotlight! 🌟

Congratulations to Mrs. Talanda, our next Avon Super Nova, awarded by Ms. Sheffer!

Mrs. Talanda has been part of the Grayslake community for 12 years - 4 years at Prairieview in the preschool and 8 years at Avon. She brings so much care and dedication to her students and is always willing to lend a hand, offer advice, and go the extra mile.

This year, she is navigating the first year of the new Dual Language program in our district. Her willingness to learn, grow, and take on something new does not go unnoticed!

We are so lucky to have her at Avon! Congratulations, Mrs. Talanda!

🌟 Avon’s Next Super Nova! 🌟

Congratulations to Ms. Sheffer, our newest Avon Super Nova!

Ms. Sheffer was chosen by her teammate, Mrs. Flores, for the kindness and warm welcome she showed to a new teammate.

She is always willing to collaborate, share ideas, lend a helping hand, and support those around her. Most importantly, Ms. Sheffer keeps her students at the heart of all she does and brings a positive, caring spirit to our school community.

Thank you, Ms. Sheffer, for helping make Avon such a welcoming and supportive place! We are so lucky to have you!

We had a great night at the Kenosha Kingfish game! An Avon fourth grader threw out a first pitch and a previous Avon student sang the National Anthem.

We plan to do the Lil' Fish Reading program again next year.

We hope everyone has a wonderful summer, we can't wait to see you all again soon!
