Our 4th Grade Scientists Are Thinking Like Engineers!

Mrs. Brittany Kilpatrick’s young scientists worked collaboratively to synthesize ideas about system failures! Students teamed up to read real-world news articles, discuss their findings, and explore the question: “How might a system fail?”

Through teamwork, critical thinking, and meaningful discussions, our scientists are learning how different parts of a system work together—and what can happen when something goes wrong!

🌎🌱 Exciting News for Rougon Elementary’s Earth Club! 🌱🌎

We are excited to share that our Rougon Earth Club School Garden Project has received a $500 grant through Kiwanis International! Our 5th & 6th grade Science/Social Studies teacher, Ms. Amber Pickney, accepted this grant to help our Earth Club students bring one of their first major projects to life by creating a school garden featuring four raised garden beds. Students will have hands-on opportunities to help build, plant, maintain, and eventually harvest from the garden throughout the school year.
As a first-year club, Earth Club is focused on helping students connect with the natural world, work together, develop environmental stewardship, and find meaningful ways to give back to their school and community. The garden will give students the chance to see firsthand how their ideas, teamwork, and effort can come together to create something lasting.
A huge thank you to Kiwanis for investing in our students and helping make this project possible!
🌱 Earth Club: Explore. Grow. Do Some Good.
💚 Leave every place a little better than you found it.
