Valley View Families,

As we mark the 25th anniversary of September 11, 2001, we pause to remember the innocent lives lost and the countless families and communities forever changed by that day.

Our students walk past this Flag of Honor each day. It carries the names of those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001, and February 26, 1993—a powerful reminder that behind every name was a person with a family, a story, dreams, and a life that mattered.

For many of us, September 11 is a day we will never forget. Please take a moment to share your stories with your children. Tell them where you were, what you remember, and how our country responded in the days and weeks that followed.

While September 11 brought unimaginable tragedy, it also revealed something beautiful about our nation. We came together. We put aside our differences, cared for our neighbors, supported one another, and stood together as the United States of America. For a time, we were reminded of what it truly means to be one nation, united.

May we never forget those we lost. May we honor their lives by teaching the next generation not only about the tragedy of that day, but also about the compassion, courage, unity, and love for one another that followed.

We remember. We honor. We teach. We remain united.

With respect and remembrance,

Travis Ackerman

Hello Valley View families,

Please help me congratulate the staff and students on the pretty impressive accomplishment of being selected as a Capturing Kids’ Hearts National Showcase School once again!

We encourage you to be part of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process as well. Share your Good Things at the dinner table, affirm one another, and you can even build your own family contract like our social contracts in school!

Our vision is to create a passion for learning that paves the way to a brighter future for all, and we are nailing it with accomplishments like this!

Thank you staff and students for being leaders of the Capturing Kids’ Hearts process here at Valley View!

Sincerely,

Travis Ackerman
