Tonight is Family Engagement Thursday! Spend some time with your favorite people and catch up on what's happening at school. Feel free to use some of the conversation starters listed below.

Families- take a moment to ask your student about their day. Often, we get one-word answers to the questions we ask (How was your day? Fine.). Feel free to use these sample questions below to dig a little deeper. Ask follow-up questions and feel free to ask your own questions specific to your child.
1. Name one word that describes your day.
2. If you could change one thing about the day, what would it be?
3. When were you the happiest today?
4. Did you get to see your friends from last year/ or make any new friends?
5. What are you most excited about learning this year?

Aprenderá sobre las herramientas que usamos en Hembree Springs para ayudar a su estudiante a mejorar su inglés. Habrá café y un desayuno ligero. Please join us for our October 6th ESOL workshop @ 7:45am in the media center. You’ll learn about the tools we use at Hembree Springs to help your student improve their English. There will be coffee, and a light breakfast. We also be offering FREE winter coats and bilingual books We’ll also have math resources and bilingual flashcards that you can borrow for home use. Check out the enclosed flyer for more details. We look forward to seeing you!

Alumni, Community Members, and Hembree Families, we need YOU to make our 25th Anniversary Celebration and STEM Faire a success. In an effort to make this event FREE for our community, families, and students, we need your donations. Please feel free to purchase an item (wish lists linked below), purchase items directly (and just let us know- [email protected] or remove them from the wish lists), or donate to our PTA. The estimated cost of this event is $10 per person, and we cannot do this without your support. All Hembree families, students, alumni and community members are invited. As a Title I school, our goal is for all families to be able to attend regardless of cost.
