For our first April birding walk, we saw 17 species. The temperature was in the mid 80s, and it was sunny. We were very excited to see a Wilson's Snipe and Warblers.

For our March birding walk, we saw 21 species. The temperature was in the mid 50s, and it was sunny. We were very excited to see two different species of Herons.

We saw 16 species on today's field outing. It was windy and cool, with rain towards the end of our walk. We had a great time, and the students were able to see Ring-Necked Ducks up close. We saw:

The Roswell Young Birders Club held its first meeting on 10-07-23. The club's mission is to give students in our area a place to connect with and study local birds in the hope of continuing and developing a love for nature and the conservation of bird habitats. This has been a collaborative effort with club sponsors Jeremy Busby and Cortney Busby, local birding group (United Field Ornithologists of Roswell) leaders Patrick Collins and Steven Smith, Community School representatives Kristen Salyards and Jessica Jacobo, Bitterlake National Wildlife Refuge Biologists, and several members of the Roswell Independent School District community. Our hope is for this club to continue for many years to come, with its young members eventually becoming mentors to future cohorts of students starting out on their birding journey.
