The author of 'Lady Tan's Circle of Women,' 'The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane' and 11 others will talk, sign books, take photos with fans.
Roswell Reads, in partnership with the City of Roswell and Bookmiser, will feature Lisa See, the No. 1 New York Times bestselling author of “Lady Tan’s Circle of Women,” “The Island of Sea Women,” “The Tea Girl of Hummingbird Lane” and 10 other titles, June 20 in Dunwoody.
VIP tickets are sold out for See's appearance, but tickets at two price points are still available.
See will discuss her new novel, “Daughters of the Sun and Moon.” Named a Most Anticipated Book of the Year by Today.com, the book will be released just 11 days before her Roswell Reads appearance.
The event will be at 5 p.m. at Saint Luke’s Presbyterian Church, 1978 Mount Vernon Road, Dunwoody. VIP tickets are sold out, but tickets at two prices (including fees) remain: $23.50 for the presentation only; or $49.25 for premium single tickets that include general admission seating and an autographed and/or personalized hardback copy of the book, "Daughters of the Sun and Moon." Seats are limited, so secure tickets now by clicking here.
After working as a freelance journalist as well as 13 years as Publishers Weekly’s West Coast correspondent, See penned her first book in 1995, “On Gold Mountain,” which tells the story of her Chinese American family’s settlement in Los Angeles.
That is also when her research began for the historical event around which her latest novel revolves – the Chinese massacre of 1871. Set amid the vibrancy and turmoil of that forgotten piece of American history, “Daughters of the Sun and Moon” tells the story of three unforgettable women, based on real Chinese women living in Los Angeles at the time, who managed to survive and eventually thrive, despite all odds.
Seats are quickly filling, so don’t wait to purchase your tickets.

Congratulations, Lisa See, for being chosen as a LibraryReads Hall of Fame June Pick!
LibraryReads is a program which harnesses the value of “library staff picks” into a single nation-wide discovery tool, a monthly list of ten newly released must-reads.
The goal of LibraryReads is to help connect books to as many readers as possible and showcase the incredible power that public library staff has in helping to building word-of-mouth for new books and creating audiences for all kinds of authors.
The LibraryReads Hall of Fame designation honors authors who have had multiple titles appear on the monthly list since 2013. As of the October 2018 list, when an author’s third title places on a monthly list via library staff votes, the author moves into the Hall of Fame.
I'm floating on a cloud of happiness today. DAUGHTERS OF THE SUN AND MOON has been chosen at a LibraryReads Hall of Fame June Pick. Hall of Fame Author!!! I’m gob smacked, honored, and delighted.

Roswell Reads is absolutely thrilled for Ann Patchett, who was recently honored with the PEN/Audible Literary Service Award. We were so very fortunate to have this talented author and bookstore owner as our guest speaker back in 2021. At that time, she was discussing "The Dutch House."
