How do ✂️ skills grow?

Consistent practice.

Twice a month cut out the pictures for their letters of the month.

The three year olds and four year old take pride in cutting on the dotted line. They grow their understanding of how to cut the pictures without “cutting” the pictures and how their helping hand can position the paper to make it easier to cut.

They are learning how to stay organized in their space: scrap paper in a pile and pictures to glue down on top of their letter. Before they throw their scrap paper away, they count to make sure they have all their pictures. If a picture is missing, is it on the floor, under their paper, or in their scrap pile?

Put your scissors safely on the counter and scrap paper in the garbage. Grab a glue stick. Glue your pictures down and before you place your paper on the counter, give it a shake to make sure no pictures fall off.
