The Fountains

"Let's make an amusement park for the birds!"

That's how The Fountains begins — a big idea born from something small: children's everyday encounters with birds in the schoolyard.

What unfolds is a hands-on laboratory where thoughts become inventions, and inventions take real, physical shape — culminating in a working amusement park for birds, built right inside the park of La Villetta Preschool.

Told through many voices — children, teachers, atelieristas, pedagogistas, and (in their own way) the birds themselves — this book is a beautiful example of what happens when we take children's curiosity about the world around them seriously.
