Zion Christian Academy has openings for Lead and Assistant Teachers for all classrooms, students ranging from 6 weeks to 5 years old. Our goal is to instill a strong Academic and Biblical foundation to prepare students to be confident learners in who God has created them to be, and to know they can do all things through Christ, who strengthens them.
Primary objectives of this position include:
• Educate, and supervise the daily functions of children and their activities
• Create and implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule
• Form and maintain positive and communicative partnerships with parents
Required Qualifications:
• Energetic, enthusiastic, loves children, compassionate and caring
• Ability to relate positively with young children, and incorporate positive, age appropriate classroom discipline
• Must meet requirements of Georgia childcare regulatory agency
• Incorporating Biblical integration into specified curriculum areas
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Maintaining regular communication with parents regarding students’ progress
• Serving snack, and meals
• Must be able to lift 35 lbs. in connection with the handling of children for the facilitation of programs, child safety, and potential emergency situations
• Able to stand, and or kneel 5-7 hours
• Flexibility to assist with additional needs/duties as required
• Strong organizational skills
• Ability to establish and maintain good working relationships with students and peers
Preferred Qualifications:
• Degree, preferably in Early Childhood Education or Child Development-related field and/or CDA
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching experience in a private school system, a quality private preschool, or childcare center
• Strong knowledge of lesson planning and curriculum implementation
