AJ Hayden, Emma Yarbrough, and Stella Stephens represented Ridgeland High School very well in several figure drawing competitions in Carrollton, GA a couple weeks ago. Stella won 3rd place in 10-minute figure drawing, 2nd place in the Face Off 2 minute portrait competition, and 1st place in 5-minute figure drawing! Thanks for all your hard work! Grey Pressley, Emmy Templeton, Emmett Blalock, and Kendall Goulette had some fun creating cardboard sculpture at the Art Throwdown in Carrollton last week. Kendall and Emmett won 1st place in the event. .
Students had 2 hours, a stack of cardboard, a knife, and a bottle of glue. All sculptures had to illustrate the concept of “Gravity.” .
This is a school first! First time we have had 2 teams in this event and the first time we have placed. I’m so proud of all 4 of these kids! 📦📦📦

Today, I’m watching Ridgeland Percussion compete in Columbia, TN, but yesterday…

Yesterday was all about our third annual Art Throw-down at UWG in Carrollton. Most importantly, our kids had such a great time. Here are a few photos from the event. I’ll post specifics about our winners in another post later.
