Dear Parents and Guardians,

Many students have been bringing various types of “squish” toys to school this year. While I understand that these items are popular and enjoyable for students, they have unfortunately begun to create some concerns at school. Several have broken, resulting in unnecessary messes in classrooms, hallways, and on buses. More importantly, a recent incident involving one of these items resulted in a student needing medical attention.

For the safety of our students and to help maintain a clean and safe learning environment, “squish” toys will no longer be permitted at Rossville Elementary School.

We will provide students with a one week grace period (starting on August 31, 2026) as we make this transition. During this time, if a student brings a squish toy to school, the teacher will hold the item and return it to the student at the end of the school day. Beginning the following week, any squish toys brought to school will be collected and will only be returned directly to a parent or guardian.
We appreciate your help by having your child keep these items at home.

Thank you for your understanding, cooperation, and continued support in helping us maintain a safe and positive environment for all Rossville Elementary students.
