It is where...
Lillian Cothran kept us in line with "the look" while teaching us all things science.
James Looper cranked out the Bengal and ruled his senior English classes.
Clinton Owen produced a power house FFA program and created a generation of leaders.
Coach Howell and the boys fast-breaked opponents out of the gym.
Coach Cathey began a beautiful gridiron tradition, led a legendary women's basketball team, then later roamed the halls as principal.
Linda Peeples taught great literature to 50 years worth of Tigers.
It is where Coach Ihme took the boys all the way to the "Dean Dome".
It is where James Condrey inspired a generation of mathematical minds.
It is where "Coach D" and the guys battled for a baseball title right here on the banks of the French Broad while we yelled from truck beds beyond the outfield fence.
It is where Principal Rudd would come into U.S. History class to debate Mrs. Coan on current affairs, to the delight of the students.
It is where Ms. Cathey came back home and ping-ponged her way into our days and demanded that we appreciate our natural surroundings in science class.
It is where Coach Whitman challenged us to ask ourselves, "How you gonna remember it!?"
Mr. Stricker built character while teaching students to build with their hands.
Where Mr. Richards jammed out to metal while we took our physics tests.
It is where Coach Mildred Powell's ladies captured the ultimate prize in volleyball in '02.
It is where Coach Jim Fox taught us all that it is, "Good to be alive!" and we were all "Proud to be a Tiger!" (YOU BET!)
.. and where many other legendary Tiger teachers and leaders (too many to name them all!) built the foundation for successful young men and women to go out into the world and be successful.
"Thank you!" to them all. Know you are always welcome back home!
