Buckley Country Day School is an independent, coeducational day school providing a superior elementary education.
Buckley Country Day School was founded in 1923 and opened the doors of its first building in Great Neck to a class of twenty-three children. In 1955, as the school’s enrollment continued to increase, Buckley moved to its current location in the Village of North Hills in Roslyn.

For Marcus, one of the best Buckley memories started with a basketball game at Club Getaway and ended with a lot of new friendships.
Over the course of two years, Buckley helped him grow not only as an athlete, but as a person — teaching patience, encouraging him to try new things, and inspiring him to expand from one sport to three. Today, he competes in cross country, basketball, and lacrosse.
This fall, Marcus heads to Middlesex School, where he’s looking forward to challenging himself in the classroom, meeting new people, and embracing new experiences.
Congratulations, Marcus! Keep saying yes to the opportunities that come your way.

We are delighted to share where the Class of 2026 will be matriculating for high school this Fall! We are incredibly proud of the culmination of the secondary school process, which begins at the end of Grade 6, in which families are guided by our Head of School, Dr. Juhel. We cannot wait to see what this class accomplishes in high school and beyond!

For Kyle, music has been the soundtrack to his Buckley journey.
From his first performances as a young student to this year’s final concerts, Buckley gave him the confidence to step onto the stage again and again. Along the way, he shared memorable performances with friends, including Rui-Xing ‘26, and even performed Gabriel’s Oboe alongside his mother as accompanist.
Some of his favorite memories happened beyond Buckley’s Muran Theatre, too — traveling through Europe with friends, sharing meals, exploring new places, and experiencing life away from home for the first time.
This fall, Kyle will bring his love of music to Choate Rosemary Hall, where he’s excited to join a renowned music program and a community of students from around the world.
Congratulations, Kyle! The next movement is about to begin.
Some students find one passion at Buckley. Sasha found several.
A dancer who helps others learn choreography. A reader who loves getting lost in a great story. An actor who’s eager for more time on stage.
Maybe that’s why one of her favorite Buckley memories was seeing The Outsiders on Broadway with friends. The show, the city, the train ride, the laughter along the way — it was the kind of day you wish could last a little longer.
Next year, Sasha heads to LaGuardia, where she’ll have the chance to focus even more on acting and performance.
And if Buckley has taught her anything, it’s that she won’t just take the stage — she’ll make it her own.
Congratulations, Sasha! We can’t wait to see where your talent takes you next.
A beautiful day for Field Day 2026. Our Blue and Red teams showed us their athleticism and sportsmanship and how to have fun! A huge shout out to Mr. Boyle and his team as well as our maintenance, dining and security staff for an amazing day!
Go Blue! Go Red!

For Sebastian, one of the happiest moments of his Buckley journey came when he received the Headmaster’s Award — not because of the award itself, but because it reminded him just how supportive the Buckley community truly is.
Since arriving at Buckley in fifth grade, Sebastian has grown into a confident student, thoughtful friend, and supportive teammate. He credits his teachers and classmates with helping him feel at home from day one, especially Mrs. Benevento, whose kindness and encouragement made a lasting impact.
This fall, Sebastian will attend Collegiate School in Manhattan, where he is excited to take on new challenges, meet new people, and continue growing in a community that shares Buckley’s warmth and spirit.
Congratulations, Sebastian! We can’t wait to see all that lies ahead.
