SAT course assignment due Aug. 21

In the Barron's SAT book:

1) Read pages 3 - 24

2) Read through Chapter 1

3) Read through Chapter 2. Start to create a word document where you list all the vocab words alphabetically. It will be very easy to add the new words you get each week to this list. Add the words you got in class to your list.

4) Read through Chapters 4 and Chap 5 (up to pg 286) again!!

5) Read and do the example questions (1-36) in Chapter 8

ACT course homework assignment due Aug.19

The HW in the Barron's ACT book:
- Review the English grammar rules in the front of the book that were covered in class
For those of you who have not done any tests in the book, do the following in test #1 ( if you have done test #1, then pick the next test that you haven't done):

ON ALL READING AND SCIENCE PASSAGES:
BE SURE TO DO THEM THE WAY THEY WERE TAUGHT IN CLASS.
- English: Passages 1 - 3 (9 min /passage, 27 min total)
- Math: 1 - 30 (25 min in total)
- Reading: Passages 1 & 2 (11 min max / passage, 22 min total)
- Science: 3 Easy passages and the 1 Hi-diff passage
(4 - 5 min for the 3 passages - 15 min max, and 7 - 8 min for the hi-diff passage).

The HW that will be reviewed this Tue is (from the handout test):

English: Passages 1 & 2 (9 min/passage, 18 min in total)

Math: Questions 1 - 30 (25 min in total)

Reading: Passages 1 & 2 ( I gave you guys 9 - 11 min / passage, 22 min total)

Science: 3 Easy passages - the ones with 5 questions each (4 - 5 min / passage or 15 min max)

+ 1 High difficulty passage - the one with 7 questions (8 min max)

Please check your answers and be ready to ask questions on what you got wrong, what you were unsure of and what took you a long time to get. Also, please bring a lined piece of paper with you to class b/c we may do an essay next week.
