Meet our coaches… This is Coach Barak - better known around the gym as Coach Bubba! ⚡️He is the co-owner and head coach of Lightning Ninja Academy - a name that carries extra meaning, since Barak means “lightning.”
A true child of the ’80s, he was a free-range kid who was into “extreme sports” long before Ninja was a thing!
From a very early age, his family knew he was built for adventure. He earned the nicknames “Lickity Split” and “Mr. Experience” thanks to his fearless energy and legendary childhood stunts: sliding headfirst down the stairs before he could walk, climbing ladders as a toddler, and even jumping through windows. Thankfully, he made it to adulthood and found a better outlet for all that energy through sports and Ninja training! 😉
Today, Coach Bubba competes alongside his youngest son and brings that same drive, determination, and sense of fun to every class he coaches. Outside of LNA, he is also a general contractor, musician, and medical professional - proof that there is no limit to what you can pursue when you are willing to work hard and keep learning.
He is passionate about challenging himself, pushing past limits, and helping every athlete become their best, not only in Ninja and their chosen activities, but in character, confidence, and life.
This past weekend, Coach Bubba proudly represented LNA in a Spartan Race alongside fellow Ninja dads, and he has no plans of slowing down anytime soon! 💪⚡️
