SUN Bucks 2026 is Here

Families may qualify to receive $120 per eligible child to help buy groceries during the summer months when school is out. SUN Bucks cards can be used anywhere CalFresh EBT cards are accepted, and receiving SUN Bucks does not affect your family’s immigration status.

Automatic Enrollment May Apply If Your Child:
• Receives CalFresh, CalWORKs, or Medi-Cal (with family income at or below 185% of the Federal Poverty Level)
• Qualifies for free or reduced-price meals through public benefits
• Is identified as migrant, homeless, or foster youth

Not automatically enrolled?
Families can submit an application through their scholar’s school or district by August 31, 2026, to determine eligibility.

Important Reminders:
• Keep your contact information updated with your school district.
• SUN Bucks benefits expire 122 days after being loaded onto the card.
• For card assistance, call the SUN Bucks Helpline at (877) 328-9677.

2026 Summer Meal Service Sites - Food Programs (CA Dept of Education) Provides parents and referral agencies with a list of locations where children may receive free nutritious meals during school vacation and off-track periods. Please call site contact to confirm participation.
