Our Launchpad learners took learning beyond the studio and onto Alcatraz Island 🏝️

After diving deep into our Psychology Quest and exploring questions around power, authority, identity, and the Stanford Prison Experiment, our learners stepped into a real-world space where history and human behavior intersect.

We love following up our quests with meaningful field trips,
places that invite learners to put themselves in others’ shoes, ask deeper questions, and reflect on how environment, systems, and choices shape human behavior. Walking the halls of Alcatraz brought new perspective, empathy, and powerful conversations we could never replicate in a textbook.

This is what learning looks like when it’s alive, reflective, and real.

Our Launchpad(high school) visited the #1 Veterinary Sciences school in the nation — UC Davis! 🎓💙

From exploring swine production to witnessing artificial insemination in animals, getting hands-on in the vet clinic skills lab, and learning about the admissions pathway , it was a full day of real-world learning and real-world inspiration!

🎃 A few of our studios from all campuses headed out to the pumpkin farm this week! In prep for our annual Pumpkin Contest next week, we loved spending time together outside , building community, sharing laughs, and soaking up the fall vibes. Nothing better than ending the week with our amazing families and a little pumpkin fun! 🎃✨

Wrapping up our first session of the year, and what a time it’s been! Our learners have worked hard preparing their contracts, making commitments, and adjusting systems to set their studio up for success this year. We wrapped it all up by signing them at our exhibition! Parents included!

But it wasn’t all work ,we had plenty of fun along the way! From creating our hero boards, several field trips, celebrating at our Fall Festival, to recording our studio overviews in Launchpad and writing historical newspapers in genre, we’ve covered a lot in just six weeks.

We are beyond grateful for the dedication and energy of our community. The moments we’ve shared are unforgettable, and while it’s tough to capture them all in one post, they’ve left a lasting impression.
