This car was brought to us with no engine. The customer stated he brought it to a British repair shop and was told it would cost $20,000 to rebuild the motor. His idea when he bought the car was to get it running so he could rent it out with a chauffeur. Dimitry is a business man and thought if the car looked like a Bentley from the outside but had a reliable engine and powertrain that could be maintained and repaired with parts readily available it would be more cost effective to maintain and keep on the road. So we found a 76 Nova with a straight 6 and automatic transmission. Robbed all the parts to install in the Bentley. The rear end had Mechanical brakes and brake boost was driven mechanically by transmission. we found a 86 Bronco rear end fit perfectly wheel lug pattern and width. I know everybody wants to hear we put a v8 with headers and cam but this is just a cruiser. It worked out well. Dimitry has been renting this car out for years. He still brings it to us for maintenance.

Hot Rods Fabrication & Repair worked on a rare gem and not many of these around. We reinforced and weld as we modified motor mounts. New aluminum radiator. Steering gear box, pump and hoses. Electric fan. Classic "Old School Cars" My expertise!

The car is completely restored from bumper to bumper and when we got our hands on it put an oversize radiator to dissipate the heat from this newly rebuilt and modified 318 wedge. Talked him into Locar accelerator cable and brackets. Dale found a low profile air cleaner because the new intake manifold raised the carburetor a couple of inches from the hood. Fun car to drive.

What can I say about this job. Victor Silva a man with excellent management skills and documentation gave us a list of concerns. He just purchased the truck and loved driving it. One of his main concerns was his wife, whom he dearly loves, didn't want to ride with him due to it running rough, Stalling, A lot of excessive fuel smell from the exhaust amongst other things. I think it was her instincts kicking in because when we inspected the vehicle we found so many safety concerns. The brake master cylinder was almost dry, meaning if he kept driving it he would have lost all braking . The bolts at the 4 link suspension installed at the rear axle where too short and several nuts where on by only 1 thread. Carburetor was leaking fuel and missing parts for cold start chock. Oil filter was hitting headers. Over heating due to undersized radiator and poor fan set up. The list goes on and on. We explained in detail what we found to Victor and he really appreciated and respected our ideas how to fix these problems. Victor is an awesome man. We became friends through all the phone calls. He bought pizza for lunch, sat with us and was so engaged with Jeremy and Taylor. We laughed a lot. Good times. Thank you Victor Silva.
