St. Joseph the Carpenter School Summer Reading 2026

The pages are turning, the adventures are beginning, and our students are on their way to an exciting summer of reading!

Our Summer Reading Program is designed to inspire a lifelong love of learning, spark imagination, and encourage students to discover new worlds through books. Each student has a required summer reading book that will be discussed and assessed when we return to school in September, along with a choice book that will be used for a special project.

All of this learning will lead up to our highly anticipated Fall Reading Festival in October, where students will showcase their creativity, share their projects, and celebrate the wonderful books they have explored throughout the summer.

We encourage our current families—and those considering joining the St. Joseph the Carpenter School community—to take a look through all of our grade-level reading lists. You may discover a new favorite book, revisit a classic story, or find a title that inspires meaningful family conversations. Reading together is a wonderful way to make lasting summer memories while fostering a love of learning that extends beyond the classroom.

Reading helps build confidence, strengthen critical thinking skills, expand vocabulary, and nurture curiosity. Most importantly, it reminds us that learning doesn't stop when summer begins—it simply takes on a new adventure!
