Happy Birthday, Dr. Maria Montessori! 🌿✨

Today, our Royals are celebrating Maria Montessori’s birthday with a special school-wide project! Students are putting their creativity to work decorating rocks with colorful designs, flowers, positive words, and plenty of personality. 🎨🪨

Once completed, the rocks will become part of something special right here on our campus — a lasting reminder that just like each of our students, every piece is unique, but together they create something beautiful. 💙👑💛

We’re keeping the finished project under wraps for now… 👀✨

The BIG REVEAL is coming Friday! We can’t wait for our Royal families to see what our students have created!

✨ Montessori Moments in Mrs. Ali Messina’s Pre-K/K Class! 👑

There’s lots of learning happening in Mrs. Ali’s classroom! 💙💛 Our Pre-K and Kindergarten Royals have been busy choosing their work, exploring Montessori materials, practicing independence, and building those all-important concentration skills.

And check out their brand-new classroom rug! 🤩 The perfect new space for our little Royals to spread out, work, learn, and grow together.

🤖👑 HISTORY IN THE MAKING AT RMS! 👑🤖

Our FIRST-EVER Royal Robotics Team is officially gearing up for competition! 💙💛

Our Royals have been putting in the WORK all summer, and now they’re getting their competition table ready and bringing months of preparation to life!

And robotics is about so much more than building LEGO® creations. 🧱⚙️ Along with designing, building, testing, and problem-solving, our team is also completing an Innovation Project that has required hours of researching, brainstorming, planning, and working together to develop their ideas.

These students are learning to think like engineers, innovators, and problem-solvers—and we could not be more excited to watch our very first team represent RMS! 🤖✨

🎨 Creativity in Action! ✏️

Our Royals were hard at work in Art class, exploring lines, shapes, patterns, and their own creativity as they put pencil to paper! We love seeing each student’s unique ideas take shape. 💙💛

A big shoutout to Mr. Marsh for giving our Royals the opportunity to create, explore, and grow as young artists! 👑🎨

🌧️ Weather Watchers at Work! 🌦️

Our 3rd grade scientists have been busy learning how to observe and describe weather conditions! As part of their science lesson, students worked together to build their own rain gauges and then headed outside to put them in place.

Now they’ll be able to collect real data and measure precipitation just like meteorologists do! ☔️📏

We love seeing our Royals turn classroom learning into hands-on discovery! 👑💙💛

📌ICYMI: This guidance was sent to all families via email.

To help students stay on track and avoid attendance issues, we are sharing some important information regarding how absences are recorded. We understand that children get sick and need to miss school. If your child is exhibiting symptoms of illness, please keep them home and seek medical attention if needed. Our goal is to work with you to ensure that every absence is accurately documented.

Please submit a written excuse for every day your child is absent.
👉Parents may provide up to 5 written notes per semester that mark an excused absence.
👉Consecutive Illness: If a student is ill for multiple consecutive days (e.g., flu recovery) without a doctor's note, the entire period should be counted as one single parental excuse. Three or more consecutive days absent requires a medical excuse as per TPSS policy.
👉A doctor’s note is considered an excused absence, but must be submitted within seven (7) days following the visit to the doctor.

By turning in your notes promptly, you help us keep your child’s record up to date and accurate. Visit the Attendance website for more information and a list of school attendance designees to whom excuses can be emailed.

Parents, we need your help keeping our Royals on track with the Zearn End Zone Challenge!

Please encourage your child to use their scheduled Zearn time each day to stay focused and complete their assigned lessons. Consistent participation during this time will help students stay on pace toward our goal of 12+ completed Zearn lessons by September 11! 💻➕📚

Tangipahoa Parish School System is beginning the transition to digital report cards! This school year, families will receive BOTH a paper report card and a digital copy by email.
