Congratulations to Ms. Arika Williams, McEvans Elementary’s 3rd Grade teacher, for being selected as our August 2026 Warrior Impact Award recipient!
Ms. Williams was recognized for consistently demonstrating highly effective Tier 1 instructional practices, including strong classroom management, explicit instruction, modeling, purposeful redirection, and gradual release.
As our August recipient, Ms. Williams received a Warrior Impact Award plaque and a $50 gift card generously sponsored by The Cotton House. Thank you for helping us celebrate educators who make an IMPACT every day!

😎🕶️ BLOCK OUT BAD BEHAVIOR! 🕶️😎
Our Warriors put on their shades and showed that there’s no room for negative choices at McEvans!
Students rocked their favorite sunglasses as they continued celebrating positive behavior, good decision-making, and Warrior P.R.I.D.E. We’re choosing to block out distractions, negativity, and bad behavior while staying focused on being ready to learn!

Congratulations to the student bodies of McEvans Elementary School and Shaw High School for demonstrating exceptional behavior and strong attendance throughout August 2026!
To celebrate their outstanding efforts, Principals Curry and Robinson treated all K–12 students to popsicles and ice cream as a special reward!
Our Warriors showed that coming to school, making positive choices, and being ready to learn deserves to be celebrated. We are proud of our students for setting a strong tone for the school year and showing what it means to represent their schools with pride!

McEvans Elementary School and Shaw High School were honored to welcome our amazing grandparents and special guests for a wonderful Breakfast with Grandparents celebration! There is nothing quite like the love, wisdom, encouragement, and support that grandparents bring into the lives of our students.

Thank you to every grandparent and family member who joined us, shared a meal, created special memories, and showed our Warriors just how loved they truly are. We appreciate you for being such an important part of our McEvans family and for helping us continue to Level Up to Lift Up 2.0!

🎨✨ ART TODAY IN MS. HAYS’ CLASS! ✨🎨

Today, our young artists stepped outside the box and let their IMAGINATIONS run wild! 🖌️💭

We’re learning all about ABSTRACT ART where there are no rules saying art has to look a certain way! Students explored lines, shapes, colors, patterns, and emotions to create artwork that was uniquely their own. 🌈🖍️

From our colorful outdoor chalk masterpieces to our watercolor creations, these little artists proved that ART IS ALL ABOUT EXPRESSION! 🎨❤️

🦅💙❤️ **Social & Emotional Learning at West Bolivar Elementary!** ❤️💙🦅

Our Eagles have been learning some very important lessons about **kindness, emotions, and caring for others!** 🌟

💛 **Ms. Saulsberry’s Class** 💛
After reading *Henry and Ella’s Big Jar of Kindnesses*, students learned that kindness is made up of small choices we can make every day—using kind words, sharing, listening, helping others, and making sure everyone feels included.

Our students are excited to start their very own **Kindness Jar**, where they will collect and celebrate acts of kindness throughout the school year! 🫙✨ We can’t wait to see how BIG their kindness grows!

Our second graders learned that **all feelings are important, and it’s okay to talk about them!** Students watched a video about emotions and used their **Feelings Fortune Tellers** to check in with themselves and their classmates. They practiced identifying their emotions, sharing what made them feel a certain way, and listening respectfully to others. 😊💭

We are so proud of our students for learning how to understand their feelings, show kindness, and build positive relationships with others. **These are skills that help our Eagles soar both inside and outside the classroom!** 🦅❤️💙
