Congratulations to Howlite Moon, librarian at Fir Grove Elementary School, who was presented with a Crystal Apple Award at the December 10 School Board meeting!

Here’s what Fir Grove shared about Howlite:
Howlite has served in several roles within education and has truly found a calling as our librarian. The library is an inviting space that sparks curiosity and wonder, inspiring students to explore and discover. Howlite is also a steady support for students who are struggling in class or on the playground, offering patience, careful listening, and a calm presence that students trust. Using a deep skill set of creativity and collaboration, Howlite produces professional-quality designs for school projects and contributes thoughtfully to the work of the whole community. This Crystal Apple highlights the dedication, creativity, and care Howlite brings to the school every day.

Congratulations, Lian!!!

Congratulations to Lian Lininger, a fifth-grader at Fir Grove Elementary School! Lian was one of four students recognized with an Exceptional Student Award at our December 10 School Board meeting.

Here’s what Fir Grove shared about Lian:
Lian is an amazing student, friend, and classmate. He is inquisitive, friendly, witty, and loves to learn. He can easily work with any other student and always seems to have a great attitude. He is a skilled reader who has recently discovered Percy Jackson. He is currently creating a report about the Aztec civilization to share with the class. Every day Lian impresses his teachers and peers with his simple kindness and complex thinking. He is a cherished member of the school community and an active member in the Garden Club. Congratulations, Lian! Fir Grove is incredibly proud of this Fir Grove Falcon!

Mrs. Ferguson’s 2nd grade class, at Fir Grove, was excited to catch Ms. Clover after Garden Recess. They had exciting news to share, their class pumpkin is already sprouting in the jar!

🌱 🎃🌱Students have learned about decomposition, seed collection and the plant life cycle as a part of the lessons around our pumpkin. We are excited to plant pumpkins in our school garden in the spring.
