Congratulations to the Roseburg High School students recognized during our Healthcare and Public Safety Pathways Celebration on May 13 in the Rose Theatre.

Students were honored for completing coursework and training in our Nurse Assistant, Phlebotomy, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Fire Science programs. Through these career pathways, students gain hands-on experience, earn college credit, pursue industry-recognized certifications and prepare for careers that make a difference in the lives of others.

These opportunities are made possible through partnerships with Umpqua Community College and local industry professionals who help connect classroom learning with real-world experience.

We are proud of each student for their hard work, dedication and commitment to serving their communities. Thank you to our RHS Culinary Arts students for providing refreshments following the ceremony.

Our English department recently took 90 students in grades 9-12 to the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland to see “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”

Experiences like this bring literature to life, giving students the opportunity to see complex texts performed as they were intended, deepen their understanding of language and storytelling, and connect classroom learning to the real world. Live theater also builds cultural awareness and helps students engage more meaningfully with classic works.

The performance was a hit, and students had a fantastic time.
