⚡Fall weather turns quickly. Wind, heavy rain, and the first hard freeze can all bring down power lines.

Take a few minutes now so the next storm goes more easily:

- Check the battery backup on your equipment, and make sure your WiFi router runs on backup power.
- Save DFN's outage number in your phone in case you need to report an outage.
- Download a few shows to stay entertained while the lights are out.
- Back up your important files in case of a damaging power surge.
- On that note, plug your equipment on a surge protector.

One cool fact about fiber: the lines carry light instead of electricity, so they do not conduct electrical surges the way copper can.

Your password is the front door. Two-step sign-in is the deadbolt.

Turn on 2 Factor Authentication (2FA) for your email and your online bank accounts first. Those unlock everything else you own. Then, turn it on for every account tied to personal identifying information and with payment options tied in.

And if someone calls asking you to read them a sign-in code, that call is the scam. Hang up.

We had such a great time being part of Blocktober in downtown Roseburg! From the incredible costumes and creative activities to all the people who came out to enjoy the evening, it was so much fun to see our community come together. 👻🧡

We were thrilled to be there, connect with our neighbors, and be part of an event that brings so much energy to downtown Roseburg.

A huge thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hi and to the organizers and local businesses who made the night such a success. We’re already looking forward to next year!

Scams don’t always look obvious anymore. The spelling is clean, the logo is right, and everything looks and sounds legitimate…except, the request seems out of place, odd, or unusual.

Before you click a link, scan a QR code, or share login codes, stop and ask yourself if the request sounds a little far-fetched. When in doubt, close the email or hang up the phone and call back the person in question on a number you have saved. No legitimate request will be so urgent that you can’t verify the truth behind it.

Here is how it works:
1. Post a photo of your pet in costume in the comments on this post.
2. Everyone votes by liking the photos they love. Every like counts as one vote.
Share the post to your feed and ask your friends and family to vote for your little gremlin!
3. The pet with the most likes when voting closes takes first place.
