HORSES ARE A PARTNER IN LIFE NOT A CONVEYANCE TO A DESTINATION. RIDING CORRECTLY HAS VERY LITTLE TO DO WITH STAYING ON THE HORSE!!!

Bob Russell’s Horse and Rider Education

My name is Bob Russell. I have been teaching horses to be ridden and people to ride correct and balanced for more than 30 years.
Let me teach you and your horse
“TRUE HORSEMANSHIP”

True horsemen exercise their horse’s mind,
knowing that their body will follow.

Ordinary horsemen only consider the physical aspects of their horses.

You and your horse will learn to create a willing and winning partnership in a very natural way. My philosophy and my methods are very simple, very natural and based on very light pressure and release. I specialize in proper preparation of horse and rider to create a life-long relationship. Whether you ride Western or English, from starting young horses or young riders to “starting-new” older horses and older riders or renewing your relationship with your horse, I teach horse and rider the natural way of true horsemanship.

There are three challenges to accomplish when creating a harmonious partnership between horse and rider:

Challenge #1: The rider must understand the horse.

Challenge #2: The horse must respect the rider as its leader.

Challenge #3: The rider must know how to ride correct and balanced because the horse naturally knows how to move correct and balanced.

Correct and balanced riding requires a harmonious partnership between horse and rider at all times.

THE CONFIDENCE THAT YOU WILL GAIN WILL ALLOW YOU TO TEACH AND RIDE ANY HORSE IN THE WORLD.

"If you understand horses and can ride correct and balanced, you can ride any horse in the world."

"The difference between a mediocre horseman and a great horseman is the ability to ride correct and balanced with the horse."

"Balance is balance, either you are or you are not there is no gray area, especially on the back of a horse!"

What is horsemanship?? My definition of horsemanship is a horse and a human working together as a team traveling in balance and harmony to the same rhythm.

I have been teaching horses and riders for over 30 years. During that time I have competed in multiple English and Western disciplines all over the western United States and Central Canada. The one common thread in all of this experience that I have learned is that WINNING IS MORE OFTEN 85% GOOD HORSE, 10% LUCK AND 5% RIDER SKILL. My point and perhaps the moral to my narrative is this: WINNING IS NOT A MEASURE OF YOUR HORSEMANSHIP. IT IS A MEASURE OF HOW WELL YOUR HORSE DID IN SPITE OF YOU!!!!!

Simple Riding Truth: A horse's nose must be pointed in the direction of travel to enable a horse to see where it is going.

Simple Riding Truth: A rider's hands are not the brakes on a horse. A rider actually slows or stops a horse with their body and legs.

Simple Riding Truth: When a rider leans in the opposite direction of movement, they are out of balance with the horse.

Simple Riding Truth: If a horse does not respect a rider they also do not trust that rider.

Hello to all of my friends. I have spent the last 6 months teaching myself lathe wood turning. I have wanted to do this since I was in high school but just never seemed to get the chance. so last November I bought my first lathe and jumped in with both feet. I am drawn most to turning different types of "containers", bowls, vases, urns, etc. My favorite mediums are burl wood combined with epoxy resin. Here are a few of my pieces:
Thanks for looking!

Confidence is the foundation to everything in horsemanship, everything!.

Confidence is the key to gaining and maintaining the trust of a horse.

Do you want to be totally confident around your horse on the ground or under saddle?

Do you want to feel confident and balanced riding anywhere and doing anything under saddle and never having to hold the horn or cantle or reins for balance or security?

Do you want to feel totally in control of your horse at all times and in all situations on the ground or under saddle?

Give me a call and I can help you gain the confidence and the balanced riding skills you need to master horsemanship.

YOUR FIRST LESSON IS FREE.

If you are looking for someone who will only tell you what you want to hear, then please look elsewhere for lessons.

"I promise to always be totally honest." "I will never blow smoke up your ass." "I am willing to teach you everything I know."

Call me 541-817-2364 or look me up on Facebook at Flying Cowboy Enterprises.

Horsemanship to a horse is: always being kept safe by their leader. Confidence to a horse is: trusting and believing they will be kept safe. Horsemanship to a human is: the horse always doing what is asked. Confidence to a human is: trust, firm belief and reliance in one's self. Horsemanship is balance, mentally and physically of horse and human. Confidence creates balance, balance is horsemanship. Horsemanship is always dependent upon good, solid, safe human leadership. Confidence has to be instilled in the horse through human leadership. Horsemanship requires equal parts: care, consistency and confidence. Confidence instills respect, respect creates trust, trust opens all doors. Horsemanship is always judged by how well the partnership cooperated. Confidence created in competition is only as true as the horse believes. Horsemanship is always judged by how well the human guided the horse.

I guarantee results from my teaching. If you are not satisfied you pay nothing!
