Douglas County Safe Routes to School

Received an update from Oregon Department of Transportation about the Diamond Lake/138E Project today. The digital open house in November results are in.

"Respondents ranked Goal 5: Safety and Security (26%) as their most important project goal, followed closely by Goal 1: Mobility and Accessibility (22%) and Goal 2: Vibrant Community
(20%)."

The survey is for Diamond Lake Boulevard/138E and all of the nearby roads, including Douglas Avenue. Remember to slow down on Douglas Avenue. The report shows several near misses around Eastwood Elementary. Drive like you want people to drive around you when you're walking.

We have already booked our pedestrian education unit for the rest of the school year, but if you are interested in having your school get this training next year, let me know!
