Shorty Jordan was awarded The Heart of the Panther this week. We recognized Shorty and his partner, Josh Whirlwind Soldier, for their volunteer service to the kids of Rosebud. Shorty demonstrates kindness by generously offering his time each week to an open gym at school. He demonstrates curiosity by wondering... What if? What if kids had a safe place to go in the evenings to play, to visit, to congregate, and to have good, clean fun? Shorty demonstrates courage by supervising dozens of children who aren't his own! Wow! Finally, commitment. The open gym began last year as a one-night-per-week event. Then Shorty asked for two nights. But he still wasn't satisfied that he was doing enough. Shorty and Josh now run three nights of open gym at Rosebud Elementary School!

It was our honor to celebrate Shorty and Josh on Thursday. Weston had a little extra juice in his leads as he sang for his dad.
