Good afternoon Head Start/Early Head Start families and staff,

Please be advised that all Head Start and Early Head Start classrooms will dismiss early at 11:00 AM tomorrow, Thursday, September 17, 2026, in connection with the Todd County Homecoming Parade.

Breakfast and a morning snack will be provided to children before dismissal. Parents and guardians, please make arrangements for your child’s early dismissal and pickup as needed.

We appreciate everyone’s understanding and hope our families, staff, and community members have a safe and enjoyable Homecoming celebration!

HEAD START & EARLY HEAD START FAMILIES — WE’RE EXCITED TO WELCOME YOU BACK!

Join Sicangu Lakota Oyate Head Start/Early Head Start for our 2026–2027 Parent Orientation on Tuesday, September 15th!

This is a great opportunity for our families to come together, meet staff, learn more about the upcoming school year, and hear important updates from our Director and Service Area Managers.

During the evening, families can look forward to:

• Parent Orientation Bags, Parent Handbooks & Resource Directories

PARMELEE FAMILIES — COME SEE US!

Sicangu Lakota Oyate Head Start & Early Head Start will be hosting a special recruitment and enrollment event in Parmelee on Thursday, September 24, from 11:00 AM–3:00 PM at the Old Parmelee Head Start Building.

If you have a little one who may be eligible for Head Start or Early Head Start, Caitlin and our Family Services team will be there to help you through the application process, answer questions, and make copies of any documents you may need.

We invite families to join us for our upcoming Mini Round-Up on September 9th & 10th, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Head Start/Early Head Start Administration Office in Rosebud!

This is a great opportunity to get your child’s enrollment completed and take care of several requirements all in one place.

Transportation will be available, and refreshments will be provided. We will also have physical and dental screenings, immunizations, and TB skin tests available on-site.

If you still need to complete enrollment for Head Start or Early Head Start, come see us and let us help you get everything taken care of!

We’re excited to welcome our Head Start and Early Head Start families into the 2026–2027 school year! September is packed with Family Nights throughout our communities, and we hope you’ll come out and spend the evening with us.

Family Nights are a chance to connect with your child’s classroom and staff, meet other families, enjoy a light meal, and learn more about what’s happening in our Head Start/Early Head Start Program.

This month, families can also learn more about becoming a Policy Council Representative or Alternate and having a voice in the program.

Meet our Head Start/Early Head Start Family Service Advocates!

As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we would like to introduce the Family Service staff who will be working with our children and families throughout the year.

Our Family Service Advocates are here to help families stay connected, supported, and informed. They work closely with parents, guardians, classrooms, and program staff to help connect families with resources, services, and support throughout the school year.

Please take a moment to get to know the Family Service Advocate serving your area. Their contact information and caseload areas are included in the attached flyer.

We appreciate everything our Family Service team does for our children and families, and we look forward to a great school year together!

Head Start & Early Head Start families, the 2026–2027 school year begins Tuesday, September 8, 2026!

We are excited to welcome our children and families back for another school year.

On the first day of school, families are invited to stop by their child’s classroom for a Meet & Greet from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM. This is a chance to meet classroom staff, visit the classroom, and help your child get settled in for the new year.

First Day of School: Tuesday, September 8, 2026
Meet & Greet: 9:00 AM–4:00 PM
