Our final senior is Van Munstenteiger. Van has been with the team a total of four years. His strong mechanical skills have been put to good use, as he has been on the mechanical team every year!

In addition, he was a member of the drive team this year - helping set up the robot for each match, getting it on and off the playing field, and serving as our human player!!

Van has been a great asset to the team and we will miss him as well, and wish him all the best!!

Today's featured senior is Tate Dale!

Tate has also been with the team since Eighth grade. When asked what he was interested in doing, Tate said he just wanted to drive! So he started driving and the rest is history - five years as our driver!! The robots have gotten way faster in the past five years- from tank-drive to swerve-drive and Tate's driving has as well!

In addition to driving, Tate has been our main programmer the past two seasons!! He is leaving some big shoes to fill! Tate, we will miss you very much, and wish you all the best!!

Our next senior is Seth Dahl. Seth has been on the team for five years - one of the first eighth graders on the team! Check out the last photo. He's changed a lot in 5 years! 😊

He spent much of his time on the mechanical team (as he always had great mechanical skills) but branched out into roles he probably never thought he would have or even want - pit presenting and a drive team captain! He grew into a true leader on the team and not only did whatever was needed, but went above and beyond - everything from random errands to refurbishing a trailer in his family's shop!

We will miss you Seth, and are so grateful for all the years you've given to the Polar Rams!

The next senior we would like to highlight is Matthew Danielson! Matthew was with the team the past two years. His primary roles were working with the CAD group and he served as the technician on the Drive team - carrying the robot on and off the playing field, and setting it up for each match.
Matthew was always willing to help with whatever was needed, and is just a really nice, easy-going guy who everyone enjoys being around! We will miss him and wish him all the best in the future!!

Today we will start featuring our Seniors, and we might as well start at the beginning of the alphabet - and first up is Avery!!

Avery Eidsmoe has been with the team for two years. His outgoing personality and ability to talk to anyone has made him the perfect fit for his main two roles on the team - outreach/fundraising and pit presenting!

Avery has done an outstanding job talking to MANY businesses and helping the team secure donations to help fund our team. This year at competitions Avery was the primary spokesperson in our Pit, talking to the many judges that stop by, as well as other teams.

We will miss you, Avery and wish you all the best!!

Well... you may have guessed by our silence over the past month that we unfortunately did not qualify for the State tournament. We literally just missed the top 36 - we finished 37th (of 184 teams)... not to mention #346 of 1627 FRC teams worldwide!

Now comes another bittersweet part of the season, recognizing our seniors - left to right - Seth, Avery, Matthew, Van, and Tate. We will highlight each of them in the coming days!

Team 2654 is homeward bound after a great regional in Iowa!! We won our first playoff match, and then lost the next two to finish tied for 5th place! We received another judges award, the Innovation in Control award!
At this point we are hoping we will qualify for the MN state tournament for the first time, but we will not know that for a couple more weeks.
If not, we will still count it as a very successful season! We were complemented by several other teams how well our team works together, our branding, etc. and we are very humbled and proud of that.

We finished qualification matches in 11th place, with a record of 5-3. We were in position to be the #7 Alliance captain, but were selected by #6 Alliance! We will play our first playoff match against the #3 Alliance at 1:57. Here we go!!!!
