The Sundrop School Nature based, Montessori Education for children ages 2.5 - 9 years old in Roscommon, MI! Sundrop Montessori is a registered 501c3 non-profit.

Sundrop Montessori Preschool is a tuition-based preschool, which blends Montessori and Forest School philosophies to nurture young children toward independence and connection with the natural world. Located at Good Shepherd Methodist Church in Roscommon, Sundrop Montessori Preschool runs Monday through Friday throughout the school year, and is not affiliated in with any religion or religious group

. There are no “owners,” and there is no profit being made from running the school. Our teachers and assistants are our only paid staff, and our tuition costs were created based on the minimum amount needed to pay our staff. Sundrop Montessori was created and is run by a group of volunteers from the community who saw the need for more preschool opportunities in our area. Current yearly tuition costs for Sundrop Montessori are $6,300 per student ($36/day). There is a 5% discount if you pay in full at the start of the year, and we also offer income-based scholarships. Tuition costs go directly towards paying our Lead and Assistant teachers. Sundrop Montessori is currently the only preschool program in the Roscommon are running 8am-3pm, Monday through Friday. Sundrop Montessori is open to all 3, 4 and 5 year olds.

The Sundrop School is hiring! We are looking for a new Lead Teacher to run our Forest School After School (FSAS) program! We are looking for someone who loves being outside, has ample knowledge about the natural world, and, most importantly, loves spending their time playing with children!

As we near the end of our inaugural Sundrop Explorers Academy year, we are so proud and grateful to celebrate our incredible students at our end of year art show, showcasing the beautiful work they created through art, creative writing, and music. It has been such a joy watching their creativity, confidence, and expression flourish throughout the year.

A huge thank you to Ms. Jackie and Mr. B for sharing their gifts, knowledge, and heart with our students this year. Watching these young explorers grow in confidence, expression, and imagination has been such a joy.
