It is how I taught kids to read in public school with all of the necessities that you need to be successful. It is open and go and designed for any parent to be able to do this.

Let’s talk about family devotion!! Whether you homeschool or not, family devotion time is important, here are a few ways our family does devotion depending on how much time we have on a given day.

1. I try and read a Psalm to the kids at breakfast. You could do this at any meal. This is a really easy way to incorporate Gods word. You can even use the Bible app and pull it up right on your phone.

2. A great devotion to be used as homeschool curriculum is anything from Not Consumed their devotions are absolutely amazing and on a wide variety of topics so you can choose one that is right for your kids.

3. The Covenantal Catechism from Canon Press is great for getting your kids through the entire Bible. They have devotions for each book of the Bible complete with memory verses, hymn studies, comprehension questions and review. My husband is currently leading our whole family through this. We do it before we read bedtime stories.

4. The Bible app has thousands of devotions. Type in a topic and it will generate a ton of devotions for free!

As Christian we all know that we need to raise our kids in the way they should go (Proverbs 22:6). However, how are we to know the way they should go? Is it a feeling? Is it societal norms? No! The only way to know how to raise our children in the way they should go is to immerse ourselves in Gods word and be obedient to it. I know this often seems like a difficult task, as our days unfold and are filled with laundry, meals, playtime, sports and school. As Christian’s we need to combat the urge to skip over reading Gods word because we are to busy. My friends and I have been recently supporting each other in this endeavor. Our method is so simple anyone can do it. We started a text thread and in the mornings one of us texts… who’s reading their Bible today? And then that person often shares what they are reading incase someone is unsure of what to read for the day. This simple reminder and accountability has been a game changer for us! You don’t have to wait until a formal bible study forms or until you have the perfect quiet moment, Gods word never comes back void, so even if you read 1 chapter or 1 verse… join us in reading your Bible today and reach out to your friends and encourage them to do the same!

We know football season just wrapped up but we are already planning for how to get our boys game ready for next season. To the friends and supporters of NGL, It has not passed us by that our nation is currently experiencing a difficult loss in the passing of Charlie Kirk. However, Romans 8:28 states, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Some “good” this tragedy has caused us here at NGL is to deeply consider our own faith and convictions and is leading us to even more boldly and zealously proclaim Christ as Lord and Savior. Our Christianity, unintentionally, became an undertone of our business displayed in our actions and conduct, however, in light of current events, it will now be overt and take precidence in all we do. We want to encourage you in your faith walk to be emboldened and unapologetic in the truths of the gospel. It is our hope that you will join us in praying for our nation and the Kirk family and our mission here at NGL to disciple parents and children through confidently homeschooling and through our athletic training endeavors. ‼️‼️‼️ FOOTBALL/POMS camp is CANCELED due to weather this evening ‼️‼️‼️ We would normally play through but with what is on the radar we do not want to risk the safety of any of our athletes or parents!
