On-Demand Video State Champ! The competition required that a pen, phone & glasses had to be shown along with the phrase "the side that always wins". They had 30 hours to create a script, film, edit & upload.

State TSA 2026 is a wrap! I had my largest team ever with 6 young men and 5 young women competing. Every single student placed in at least 1 event with 5 students qualifying for Nationals!

Koleson Swafford, Parker Sutton, Newell Marsh, Xavier Haigler, Talon Scribner and Coltin Dragoo placed 4th in their On-Demamd Video. I missed getting their group photo in the chaos. 😢

Koleson competed in Forensic Science with Addison Thorne. They advanced to the semifinals and investigated a crime scene. They placed 5th overall.

Yeva Taylor competed in Photographic Technology. She made semi-finals where she had to show her knowledge of photography by taking 3 additional photos and participate in an interview. She placed 2nd at state, qualifying her for the National Competition in June.

Yeva competed with Addison Thorne and Taylor, Skylar & Katelyn Dutton in On-Demand Video. Their humorous video made them State Champions and qualified them for Nationals as well!

A few of the boys left state competition to participate in baseball & track. While they were gone the remaining students stepped up without complaint & helped set up the chapel for the awards ceremony. They received some TSA Swag for their efforts.

Today Flinthills TSA attended Winter Leadership in Emporia. They explored competitions including Forensic Science, Fashion Design & Problem Solving. They enjoyed ice breakers, working with students from other schools and of course enjoying a pizza lunch! It was a great day & these students represented Flinthills well!

Flinthills TSA Alumni - the Kansas advisory board is looking to gather alumni information. There are different ways you can continue to be involved with TSA, from an occasional email to online judging to in person judging or doing presentations at state. Your involvement would be as limited or extensive as you want. PM me your current email (and name if your last name has changed). You may not want to do anything now but you never know when that urge to reconnect will hit!

Fall Regionals in Andover. 12 Flinthills HS members attended where they built and flew drones, shot straws with a launcher (I believe Flinthills was the only school to shoot their straw into the target!), listened to some speakers, and interact with other schools.
