In preparation for Festival this Sunday, our performance studio classes were this evening! Students got some extra performance practice as well as some creative thinking when I asked them to go around and say what character, emotion, or scene each person’s performance painted a picture of. And we also had our first adult studio class ever!

Merry Christmas from our piano studio! While students were busy preparing for festivals and exams, they still made time to learn and perform holiday music for our big recital at Gray’s Opera House earlier this month 🎄🎶

Today in studio class we rehearsed our group cup tapping performances for our holiday recital. Students then got to practice performing their solo pieces for each other. Students are collecting signatures for each performance of their holiday piece and the student with the most signatures will win $30, and be extra well-prepared to perform!

Two of my students had the amazing opportunity to have a masterclass with Dr. Christopher Harding, chair of piano at University of Michigan earlier this week. Ryan Kruger performed “Ballade No. 4 in F Minor” by Chopin and Alex Shim performed “Ondine” from Ravel’s Gaspard de la nuit. We are so lucky to be able to work with someone who has experience working with this high level of repertoire with students all over the world! Thank you to Vivace Music Club for facilitating this masterclass!

Here is our Fall Piano Recital 2025! 🎃🎶 Students got the chance to be creative and record their spooky pieces at home where they could wear costumes, decorate, or just let the music speak for itself. Most of these pieces were quick studies, where students had just a few weeks to learn and record their piece. Please enjoy their music!

We had amazing weather for our Cider and Doughnuts Meet and Greet! Students got to experience an informal performance setting and enjoy cider, doughnuts, games, and crafts.

Let’s wish our graduating seniors good luck as they embark on their college education endeavors! It was such a blessing to be able to spend so many years with these girls and mentor them as well as teach them music. They were such a welcomed part of the studio and will be missed greatly, but we are all so excited for what the future holds for them! Some photos from our Summer Pop Recital! Studio families enjoyed listening to familiar favorites in the beautiful breeze and shade of the Bruce Township Pavilion. These students are ahead of the curve for continuing their piano studies through the summer!
