Please mark your calendars for one of our favorite events of the Fall, as the Rome City Schools Family Fun Fest is set for Friday, Sept. 18, from 4 to 6 p.m. prior to the home football game against Sequoyah. We hope to see everyone there.

Update: The game has resumed.
The teams will be returning to the field at 8:55 to warm up and then play two 12 minute quarters.
The Rome versus North Paudling scrimmage game at Barron Stadium is currently in a weather delay. We will give an update when it resumes.

Anna K. Davie Elementary celebrated its new playground Friday morning, and once the ribbon was cut, students weren’t the only ones enjoying the new equipment. Get ready, Rome High football fans, because the Wolves play a preseason scrimmage tonight at Barron Stadium against North Paulding. The Wolf Walk is set to start at 5:45 p.m., with kickoff set for 7:30 p.m. Come out and support the Wolves.

Rome High's FFA earned Two-Star National Chapter recognition, while Iris McHaggee and Johannah Monson were named national finalists in the FFA Agriscience Fair. Madylne Cruz-Hernandez also earned a national bronze rating after taking first place at the Georgia State FFA Convention.

A medical issue with a student occurred at East Central Elementary this afternoon. The school was put under a Code Blue for a medical issue. Students and staff were safe, and emergency services arrived and aided the student. The student’s parents were notified.
