Ariah Parker was crowned Homecoming Queen and Liam Cantreel was crowned Homecoming King during Friday night’s Homecoming celebration at Barron Stadium.

Rome City Schools Parent University kicked off its October schedule this week with Atrium Health Floyd providing CPR and AED education for parents.

Thank you to Atrium Health Floyd for partnering with RCS to give our families practical, potentially lifesaving information and skills. Community partnerships like this help Parent University connect families with resources that can make a difference at home and throughout our community.

Parent University continues throughout October with sessions focused on childhood lead poisoning prevention, mindful awareness, understanding your child’s test scores, and children’s mental health. All remaining October sessions begin at 9:30 a.m. at the RCS Parent Resource Center, 200 Hardy Avenue.
We hope our parents will take advantage of these free opportunities to learn, connect, and grow throughout the month.

The Kell Longhorns travel to Barron Stadium for a big Region 6-6A contest tonight. It’s also homecoming, so make sure you come out for all the festivities and cheer your Wolves on.

We wanted to remind everyone about the Rome High School homecoming parade this afternoon, Friday, Oct. 2. The parade starts at 5:30 p.m.

It begins on Broad Street before turning right on Second Avenue and then turning right on West Third Street before proceeding to Barron Stadium.

It will affect traffic in the area starting at 5 p.m. If this is part of your normal commute home, you might want to take an alternate route. We also hope a bunch of people come out to see the parade.

Rome fans could see some rain tonight, according to Rome High graduate and meteorologist Emma Kate Cowan. She has this week’s game-day forecast as the Wolves take on the Kell Longhorns at Barron Stadium for homecoming.
