This past Saturday, alumni and friends gathered at the Shakey Mutt in Downtown Chatsworth for the annual Carpet Capital Chapter August meeting. We had 1950s graduates from the Martha Berry School for Girls (high school) as well as college alumni from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2010s and 2020s. It was GREAT to see the connections made across the generations!
The alumni chapter also recognized current Carpet Capital scholarship recipients and awarded a new student the Tim & Odetta Howard Scholarship. They also welcomed incoming first year students and parents who are joining the Berry Community later this month.
Next up for the chapter is a service project with East Side Baptist Church’s clothes closet on Nov. 7. Anyone from the Whitfield and Murray County area are invited to join the group.

Happy Independence Day! 🇺🇸
Today, America celebrates its 250th birthday, honoring the generations who have shaped our nation's story through service, leadership and perseverance.
Next year, Berry College will celebrate 125 years of educating generations of Vikings who have carried Martha Berry's vision into their communities and around the world. For half of our nation's history, Berry alumni have been making an impact through lives of purpose, service and leadership.
As we celebrate our country's past and look toward Berry's 125th anniversary, we're grateful for every generation of alumni who continue to write the Berry story.
Happy Fourth of July, Vikings! 🇺🇸

This week, Allie Arnold (27c) and Erik Jensen (28c) have been representing Berry at the 135th DAR Continental Congress in Washington, D.C. The DAR has helped create opportunities for many Berry students, and we are proud to be part of this year’s celebration.

Happy Father’s Day from the Berry Alumni Office!
On a campus known for its wildlife and wide-open spaces, even our youngest residents remind us of what it means to be nurtured and cared for. Like these three fawns, Berry students have long been shaped by the steady presence of mentors, fathers and father figures who lead with patience and purpose.
Today, we celebrate the fathers and alumni who have helped the Berry community grow, season after season. Thank you for the lessons, the encouragement and the legacy you continue to pass on.
