It’s been a wonderful start to the school year! 🙌 We kicked things off the Saint Mary’s way with a beautiful Mass, followed by Fr. Paul’s blessing of our classrooms and 🎒 backpacks. We think our middle school students may have received a little extra blessing! 😆

After a summer apart, it was so sweet to see our students back together, reconnecting with friends and play really hard at recess! 🛝 Our Saint Mary’s School Ambassadors did an amazing job welcoming our new students and helping them feel right at home. We celebrated their arrival with our Annual Donut Ambassador Party! 🍩 A big thank you to Krispy Kreme Rome for the delicious treats!

We are so excited for all the blessings this new school year will bring. Please keep our students, teachers, staff, and school community in your prayers as we grow together with courage, wisdom, and the love of God. 💙🙏

Saint Mary’s School proudly celebrates alumnus Charlie Jackson, Salutatorian at Darlington School! Charlie is SMS class of 2022 and Darlington class of 2026. His accomplishments include induction into the Cum Laude Society and National Honor Society, earning AP Scholar with Distinction honors, and receiving the Georgia Certificate of Merit, Jefferson Book Award, and Alice Cooper Griffin Memorial School Service Award.

A dedicated leader, Charlie served on the Y Cabinet and Student Activities Committee, participated in Concert Choir, and excelled as a student athlete and varsity football trainer.

Charlie’s leadership, service, and pursuit of excellence reflect the strong foundation built at Saint Mary’s. We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished. Congratulations, Charlie!

Saint Mary’s School proudly celebrates alumnus Hayes Parsa, Valedictorian of Darlington School 2026. Hayes is Saint Mary’s class of 2022. He was a National Merit Finalist, STAR Student, Cum Laude Society member, AP Scholar with Distinction, and Georgia Certificate of Merit recipient after completing 24 AP and honors courses.

He served as Honor Council President, Editor in Chief of the student newspaper, Co-President of the Servant Leadership Committee, Student Council Class Representative, and a Tiger Tutor. Hayes faithfully served as an altar server at St. Mary’s Church and volunteers with ESP of Rome. In addition, he was a four year varsity athlete in cross country and track & field. This fall he will continue his journey at Cornell University.

Congratulations, Hayes! Your leadership, service, and dedication are a true reflection of the strong foundation you built at Saint Mary’s, and we couldn’t be more proud!

Saint Mary’s School proudly celebrates SMS class of 2022 alumnus Peter Whitehead, Valedictorian and STAR Student at Unity Christian School!

Peter’s accomplishments include receiving the Head of School Award, Exchange Club Student of the Year, and Noon Optimist Club Student of the Year honors while serving as Student Government President, Interact Club President, and National Honor Society President at Unity. He also excelled in musical theater, earning both Drama Performer of the Year and Musical Performer of the Year, while competing in Varsity Basketball, Golf, Tennis, Track & Field, and Cross Country.

Peter’s leadership, dedication, and pursuit of excellence reflect the strong faith-filled foundation built during his years at Saint Mary’s. We are incredibly proud of all he has accomplished.
