We’re proud to see several districts represented at our recent professional learning session, Literacy Essentials for Administrators, presented by Kim Freedman from Paulding County School District!

Elementary administrators engaged in practical learning and walked away with valuable information to support literacy implementation, such as:

• Georgia literacy requirements, such as screening, tiered reading plans, and progress monitoring
• Characteristics of dyslexia
• Standards-first planning and the effective use of HQIM
• Science of Reading foundations and research-based instructional practices

NWGA RESA’s Shawn Keim closed out the conference by walking us through the our time together and setting the stage for next steps. We are already looking forward to next years conference!!

Day 3 of our First Annual Literacy Leadership Conference has focused on supporting special education and birth to 5 literacy needs.
