Through the power of storytelling, Alex Kendrick has shared the Gospel with audiences around the world, encouraging people to live with faith and purpose. After traveling from Rome to Alabama, Pennsylvania, Canada, and back again, a rare 1863 Decker Brothers square piano, known within the Shorter family simply as “the Shorter piano,” has returned to Thornwood after more than a century away.

Donated by Monro B. Lanier III and Martha Shorter Dougherty, direct descendants of Alfred and Martha Baldwin Shorter, this piece of living history is now on display for the entire Shorter community to enjoy.

Shorter University is pleased to announce Bethany Brady as our Interim Vice President of University Advancement! A role she has accepted in addition to her current duties as Vice President of Enrollment Management & University Relations. 💙👏

Since joining Shorter in 2016, Bethany has served The Hill with excellence and dedication. From Admissions to the Registrar’s office to VP of Enrollment Management & University Relations, she has made a lasting impact on students, faculty, and staff alike.

Known across campus for her ability to build meaningful relationships and her deep care for the people she serves, Bethany continues to lead with wisdom, humility, and grace while also finishing her doctorate in Strategic Leadership this July.

We are grateful for Bethany’s continued leadership and excited for all that lies ahead in this new role. Please join us in congratulating Bethany! 🎉
