Some highlights of my 2024 shooting season. Lasting memories.

Photos of myself with my old rifle team coach army Ist Sgt (retired) Don Studer. I shot for Don in 1975 & 1976 and we still stay in touch and are friends today. These photos were taken at the NRA Whittington Center in Raton, New Mexico. Don was showing me that he still had it hitting targets 1760 yards away. Yes that is a mile. Pretty good for an 84 year old.

Found a load this old rifle really likes. Re*****on 700 BDL Varmit Special chambered in .308 Wi******er. Re*****on trigger set at 2 1/2 pounds. Pillar bedded laminated stock. Night Force 5-20x50 scope. 10 shots off the bench at 600 yards. 168 Sierra Match King bullet, 42.9 grains of IMR 4064 traveling at 2614 fps. Not real fast, but very accurate. Re*****on 26” Varmit contour barrel. Barrel has about 400 rounds through it.
