Diagnostic students were learning how to solder today. Using old wire harnesses they cut out a wire and did 4 solder joints in the wire making it into a circle.

Busy day in the shop. Students were working on fixing a TPMS issue on a teachers car, needed two new sensors put in and programmed. They also worked on replacing the spark plugs on our shop car that had a nasty misfire with two plugs having a .090" gap when the max spec was .047". Then they learned where a Tesla Model 3's diagnostic port is and how to hook up Tesla Toolbox (Tesla's OEM scan tool) to put the car in service mode.

Students in Diagnostics have been covering electrical, here they are learning what an LDR (light dependent resistor) is and how it works and possible applications in automotive. One section of auto systems is working on engine reassembly. They are using a digital angle torque wrench to tighten TTY (torque to yield) head bolts to factory specifications.

Students working on practicing how to flare brake lines, disc brake service, cutting rotors and checking rotor runout.

Students in auto club working on tracking down a vacuum leak in an 86 BMW 3 series using our Redline Detection Smoke Pro and Easy Intake. Tracked down the leak and found a stripped bolt on the intake cold start injector.

Thank you SAE International for having us out at the COMVEC conference. Was great to explore different opportunities and paths in the automotive field and have the mentors talk about how they got to where they are and what type of work they actually do.

We got the Mazdarati running today, just need a few more parts and a little more assembly and it will be ready to hit the track again.

Today the students got the transmission on, the front end accessories and we're able to mate the subframe and the body back together. They did a great job working together today to get this car back together.

Today's class picked up where we left off yesterday. We got the engine back on the subframe and got the flywheel and clutch back on. Very proud of the work these students are putting into this and showing off the skills they learned remotely last year. High School District 214 Rolling Meadows High School

Students in Diagnostics and Vocational were out in the shop today putting the engine back together for our Miata drift car to get it back in action. It was great to have them back out and working in the shop. High School District 214 Rolling Meadows High School

Huge thank you to Blaster Corporation for sending us over some products to use! Students completed BlasterU and they rewarded us with samples that I promptly put to work on the noisy garage door.
