As a Dental Assistant, you can take on various interesting job responsibilities. As a Chair-side Medical Assistant, you would actively support dental examinations or procedures performed by a Dentist. You could prepare tray set-ups for oral procedures, expose digital radiographs and film, perform x-ray processing, and transfer instruments during procedures like fillings, crown preparations, and tooth extractions.

Did you know that you can work as a pharmacy technician in a hospital?

When you are a pharmacy technician in a hospital you will work with IV medications and do laboratory preparations such as sterilizing. You can also help maintain drug-dispensary machines that nurses use in the hospital for giving out medicine at a moment's notice.

Meet our president Dr. AliNiazee. Dr. AliNiazee received his Ph.D. from University of California, Riverside in 1970 and has since been involved in research and teaching at major U.S. universities, including University of California at Davis and Oregon State University.

NWSC is his dream of establishing a world-class center of higher education dedicated to science and medicine. Dr. AliNiazee is the founding and current president of NWSC.

Fun fact Friday! Did you know that Dr. Pepper was invented by a pharmacist, Charles Alderton in Waco, Texas.

Charles was on a mission to turn the smell of the syrups at the soda fountain into a drink. He began mixing different syrups with carbonated water until he was able to find the perfect combination.

He was able to achieve that with 23 different flavors and gave us one of the most popular drinks to this day.

Have you ever wanted to work in the medical field but don't want to work hands-on with patients?

When you become a Medical Assistant, you can work in an outpatient clinic, hospitals or even private practices as an Administrative Medical Assistant. Administrative medical assistants job duties may include; Providing patients with test results, answering phones, filling out insurance forms, recording patient information and other administrative duties.
