We're back!

It’s been a good year for five former Panthers—2 athletes and 3 artists—emerging from the foggy fame of regionalism to the sunny hill of national searchlight.
Last week Nick Frasso, (class of ‘17), who was obscenely under-recruited by most local D1 schools—he could have played D1 hoops, too—was drafted in the 4th round by the Toronto Blue Jays.
Ena Shibahara (‘16), after two years playing #1 at UCLA, by March had risen to a world ranking of 25 in doubles on the WTA circuit.
In the arts, Stephanie Hsu, (‘08), already a fan club favorite in The Broadway hit ‘Be More Chill,’ stole the show in the 3rd season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.
Jean Kyoung Frazier (‘11) released her debut novel last week to glowing reviews—and was interviewed by Weekend Edition’s Scott Simon!
Alex Simon (‘08), aka Tone Ranger has been living near Santa Fe building a cult following with his totally original Cowboy House Music, or as his Bio on Spotify says “an immersive sound and vision which bridges the gap between wilderness and dance floor, city lights and desert stars.” He released ‘House Made of Sun’ in April, but evidently the biggest buzz comes from his live shows.
Clearly there’s something in the water at Peninsula High.

Our annual school-wide fundraiser, the Walk for Life, is next month. This year’s walk is in honor of Pen High 2008 grad, Eric Stevens, and his recent diagnosis of ALS.
