The Class of 2026 was recently welcomed into the Chadwick Alumni Association during the Senior Alumni Inauguration dinner. Stevee Jo Eads ’09, a member of the Alumni Board, shared insights from her professional path in entertainment and highlighted the strength of the Chadwick alumni network. The evening also featured reflections from Head of School Jessica Donovan, English teacher Ms. Kim and senior John Eapen as they looked back on the Class of 2026’s journey. The Chadwick community recently gathered on the Vanderlip Lawn for “MercerFest,” a celebration honoring the life and lasting legacy of Jeff Mercer. Jeff joined Chadwick in 1996, first serving as a history teacher and, for the past 14 years, as Director of the Middle School. Students, faculty and staff, alumni, family and friends came together to share cherished memories while enjoying live music, great food and backyard games. A beautifully curated pop-up museum reflected Jeff's incredible impact and showcased photos, heartfelt messages and artwork. The event also publicized the Jeffrey Mercer Memorial Scholarship Fund, established by Chadwick School and the Mercer family in March 2026. Thank you to everyone who joined us to celebrate a remarkable individual who dedicated so much of his heart and soul to the Chadwick community.

Chadwick celebrated students who displayed excellence and exceptional character at our annual Tree and Awards Ceremony today. This tradition dates back to Chadwick’s founding years when a tree was planted on campus for each awardee! Today, since the Chadwick campus has limited spaces for new trees, we partner with TreePeople LA to plant native trees across Los Angeles in honor of each recipient. The Yearbook staff also announced that this edition of the Yearbook is dedicated to Jeff Mercer. We are so proud of the students who model Chadwick’s Core Values, and who excel inside and outside of the classroom. Congratulations to all of this year’s honorees, including those recognized with awards such as the Head of School Award, the Community Leadership Award and the Visual Arts Award, to name a few!

The Class of 2026 has returned from their 20-day Senior Outdoor Education Course! They were welcomed back to campus by family, K-11 students, faculty, staff and family with a parade around campus and shared their tales from the trail. The senior course — a tradition dating back to the 1980s — is a rite of passage for soon-to-be Chadwick graduates. Welcome home, seniors!

To kick off Pride Month, Chadwick hosted its annual Pride Day celebration, a meaningful day dedicated to authenticity, belonging, and the understanding that q***r people are people first. Middle and Upper School students gathered to hear inspiring and moving perspectives from members of the Chadwick community before raising the Pride Flag. Then, students gathered for the Pride Panel, which consisted of Chadwick students, faculty and staff, alumni and students’ family members to discuss the day's theme, “Q***r People are People.” The energy continued at the Pride Day Fair, which featured community resource booths, games, and the Q***r Art Show. Together, the Chadwick community raised the flag, learned from one another and honored the diversity that strengthens us all.
