🚜 Harvest is happening! 🌾

Fields are busy, equipment is on the move, and our roads are seeing plenty of tractors, combines and grain trucks these days.
If you come up behind farm equipment, slow down, give them space and take a little extra time to pass safely when it’s clear. Whether you're behind the wheel of a combine or just trying to get home, we all share these roads and we all want to make it home safely.

Look out for one another this harvest season!

Patience yields the best harvest this time of year. As harvest season approaches remember to slow down. We all have places to be but taking the time to slow down ensures that you and the farmers return home safely to their families. Please give them the space they need as this may be their only route to the field or are alone. This also goes towards semis as well, as they travel to and from fields and can not stop as fast as you think they can.

Late summer is the time for peaches!

To preserve peaches to enjoy in the winter months, choose ripe, mature fruit of ideal quality. Avoid fruit with bruises or spoilage. You will use about 2½ pounds of fresh peaches to yield 1 quart of canned peaches.

Along the way, they depend on native flowering plants to rest and refuel. Planting native wildflowers and milkweed in your yard or community is one simple way to help these remarkable travelers complete their journey.

Have you ever seen this creepy looking bug before? Don't squish it! This little thing is helping you out. The blue and orange spikey thing is a larval stage ladybug who is eating those pesky aphids.

This bug was found in a wheat field, that led to the discovery of aphids. Its never to late for them to show up especially in hot weather. When you see the flashy color of a baby ladybug it might be best to take a closer look at your plants. Who knows you might have and infestation of tiny green bugs!
