Career Technical Student Organizations from RTI/C gathered at the Capitol for CTE day. Our FCCLA officers prepared questions and talking points for our representatives and senators.

In our first year as an organization, we had a successful meeting with State Representative Tara J. Peters. We discussed student food insecurity and explained our approach to providing food without stigma. We also talked about funding for our school food pantry and she encouraged us to draft legislation to support no-stigma food pantries in schools.

This was a great opportunity for cross-curricular work-based learning and we are excited to continue working on this important issue. I could not be more proud of these two amazing young ladies!
